EUROPE IN MOTION is the travelling international talent development programme of Springdance for young talented European dance makers. Springdance is cooperating with several international partners for this project, which is supported by the EU. The first edition of EUROPE IN MOTION took place in 2008-2009, in cooperation with Dance4 from Nottingham (UK) and Centrul National al Dansului CNDB from Bucharest (Romania). The second edition, EIM 2011-2012, is taking place in cooperation with again Dance4, and new partners iDans from Istanbul (Turkey) and brutWien from Vienna (Austria). Check out the sub tabs for more info on this second edition which is currently taking place.

SET UP
In EUROPE IN MOTION a selected group of young choreographers from different European countries will enter into a weeklong discussion about their work, artistic visions, methods, traps, opportunities and share their ideas on the future of dance performance. This will happen under the guidance of two experienced mentors from the dance sector. After the dialogue sessions, they will present their latest work to a festival audience, who can meet young, fresh, new, up and coming makers. For the participants, the programme functions as an impulse to their artistic development. The programme travels during two years to all partners in the project and is embedded in their festival programming.

EIM 2008-2009
In the first edition of EIM 2008-2009, a total of 36 choreographers participated. They have had the opportunity to reflect upon their work and their working methods, they have learnt from each other, from the differences in  background, culture, vision and passion. The intensity of the work process has allowed them to take significant steps in their development and has given them international colleagues for life. EIM 2011-2012
In the second edition (EIM 2011-2012), in total 40 European choreographers will participate. This time EIM will travel to Nottingham in February 2011, Utrecht in April 2011, Istanbul in October 2011, Vienna in March 2012 and it will end in Utrecht again in April 2012.
